PADUA AND THE AIR RAIDS
After the defeat of Caporetto, with the transfer of the Supreme Command to the city, hundreds of aerial bombs fell on Padua, hitting many historic buildings and killing a large number of civilians. On the area of the sixteenth-century Gatta's Bastion there is the shrine to the civilian victims of the aerial bombings.
